Norwegian Spirit was originally built in 1998 by Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, and entered service with Star Cruises as SuperStar Leo. Spirit was transferred to Norwegian Cruise Line in 2004 and renamed Norwegian Spirit. The ship has operated global itineraries including Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean, and remains active in the fleet, registered in Nassau, Bahamas. Spirit underwent a major refurbishment in 2020, modernizing its design and amenities.
