MS Roald Amundsen is a hybrid-powered expedition vessel operated by HX Hurtigruten Expeditions. The ship entered service in 2019 and set a milestone as the first large cruise ship with battery-assisted propulsion designed to reduce emissions. The vessel is ice-strengthened for polar operations and carries roughly 530 guests supported by a professional expedition team and crew of about 150.
